CSRT Team Philosophy
Welcome to our Family!
Cooper Spur Race Team (CSRT) would like to welcome you to our "family" - our community of young ski racers who are looking forward to another fun and successful ski racing season!
Since 1978, we've provided our community with a program designed to develop youth ski racing. It offers an ideal program for skiers of all ages who want to become expert, all-mountain, life long riders, while having fun and learning to compete.
Cooper Spur Race Team is
a non-profit 501c3 volunteer organization dedicated to the development of
youth ski racing. Ski racing is fun and our program is set up so that
each boy and girl who participates has an enjoyable experience in a safe
setting, learns a lot about skiing, ski racing and about him or herself as
well. The basis for our quality organization is solid fundamentals, small
groups, and maximum ski time. Real learning is based on repetition, but fun
is what provides the motivation.
We pride ourselves in producing some of the top Mitey Mite and Junior racers
in the Pacific Northwest. In both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons, CSRT placed
5 overall (out of over 20 teams!) at the Buddy Werner Championships. In 2004
our girl's team placed 3rd, and in 2005, we became
the Buddy Werner Champions for the Pacific Northwest Ski Association!
Success in producing top athletes is only part of the CSRT program. CSRT strives
to provide a learning environment where each child has the opportunity to discover
and reach his or her potential in the life-long sport of skiing. Ski racing requires
a unique blend of physical, emotional and mental skills which, when mastered,
provide a solid foundation for success later in life. At CSRT, our youth learn
much more than just ski racing.
If you want your child to join or have any questions, feel free to email us at csrt@gorge.net.
